Glossary
B2A Glossary
The terms used in the B2A system at Brand Design Ltd.: brand, SEO and GEO, structured data, governance, measurement and AI commerce. We distinguish architectural readiness from implemented capabilities.
A — F
- Access → Readability → Trust → Commerce
- The architectural logic of B2A: access to the business, understandable information, verifiable grounds for trust and the ability to trade. These are four connected layers, not four additional services. An accessible website does not automatically establish trust or enable a transaction.
- ACP (Agentic Commerce Protocol)
- An open standard connecting merchants with ChatGPT, including structured catalogues, inventory data and product discovery. It is not limited to payment. ACP documentation.
- Agent Actionability
- An AI agent’s ability to perform a specific authorised action through an implemented interface, such as checking availability or submitting an enquiry. Its permissions, required data and handover conditions are defined in advance.
- Agentic Commerce Readiness
- Business readiness for commerce through authorised AI agents. It covers product data, prices and availability, rules, identity and tested connections to the required commerce systems. ACP/UCP readiness means preparation for selected project integrations, not proof of a live transaction.
- Agentic web
- A web environment where software agents do more than read pages: they use described data and tools to complete tasks within their granted permissions.
- AI Agent
- A software system that uses AI, data and tools to complete tasks. Acting on someone’s behalf requires defined permissions; conversational ability alone does not confer purchasing authority.
- B2A Brand Signal
- The combination of brand strategy, design and AI technologies. Human audiences, identity and brand character remain the foundation, with consistent representation prepared for machine-readable environments as well.
- B2A Protection
- We set clear rules for interpreting your brand and each of its claims. We link them to verifiable facts and monitor how the brand is presented to spot misinterpretations and respond to misleading content.Related service: B2A Protection
- AI Digital Twin
- A calibrated AI persona of a customer cohort, built from real data (CRM, support transcripts, prior research). Used as a complement to (not replacement for) traditional human research, with documented bias and accuracy controls.
- AI Discoverability
- How findable a brand is to AI-mediated discovery — including LLM citations, AI-search recommendations, and answer-engine surfacing.
- AI Hallucination
- An incorrect statement produced by an AI system as if it were factual. For brands, hallucinations may include wrong founding years, fabricated services, or invented quotes — and can damage reputation if not monitored.
- AI SEO
- A market label for SEO work in AI search, not a separate discipline in our services. Google states that AI Overviews and AI Mode use core SEO practices without special AI optimisation or schema. Source: Google Search Central.
- AIO
- An ambiguous abbreviation: used as a market label for AI Optimization and as shorthand for Google AI Overviews. AI Overviews is a Google Search feature, not a separate service we offer.
- B2A Customer Digital Twins
- Methodology for building calibrated AI personas of real customer cohorts. Used for repeatable research, message testing, and product validation. Complements (does not replace) traditional human research.
- B2A Product
- Preparation of a product or service as a clear proposition for a specific audience. It connects market and competitor research with positioning, selling arguments, messaging and go-to-market strategy.
- AI Visibility Audit
- An assessment of a website's readiness for AI-mediated discovery, scored across LLM Visibility, Structured Data, AI-Readability, Brand Signal Strength, and B2A Readiness.
- Algorithmic Positioning
- The discipline of positioning a brand to be recommended by algorithms (search, social, AI) — not just by humans.
- Answer Engine
- An AI-powered system that returns direct answers (not link lists). Examples: Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot.
- B2A Brand Signal
- Work on technical access, content, structured data and public evidence about the business. SEO and GEO belong within this second B2A service; audits and measurement guide and assess the changes.Related service: B2A Brand Signal
- B2A (Business to Agent)
- Brand Design builds B2A systems through six connected services: Brand, Brand Signal, Product, Customer Digital Twins, Expert AI Agent and Protection. We bring together identity, websites, machine-readable data, research, pre-launch testing and AI commerce according to your business needs.
- B2A Readiness
- Readiness of the connected B2A system from brand to AI commerce. It considers access, readability, verifiability, product data, rules and implemented actions. Technical scores, observed AI visibility and commerce outcomes are separate measurements.
- Brand
- The recognisable identity, character and promise of a business. Human perception remains the foundation in B2A, while facts, evidence and rules provide a consistent context for machine representation.
- Brand Signal Strength
- The clarity, consistency, and authority of a brand's machine-readable signals — name, services, location, ratings, citations — across the open web.
- Citation-Friendly Content
- Content written in a way that AI agents can quote verbatim or paraphrase with high confidence — short declarative statements, dated facts, and unambiguous claims.
- CrUX Data
- Chrome User Experience Report — Google's dataset of real-user performance metrics. Required for PageSpeed Insights field-data scoring.
- FAQPage Schema
- A Schema.org type for structured question-and-answer content. The markup should match the visible content; its presence alone is not evidence of citation in an AI answer.
G — L
- Generative AI Branding
- The use of generative AI to produce brand identity assets that adapt across contexts while remaining coherent — logos, visuals, copy, and tone variants generated from a unified brand system.
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
- In our work, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) means improving content, facts and evidence for discovery and accurate representation in generative AI answers. It complements SEO within B2A Brand Signal. Measurement assesses the outcome; it is not the whole of GEO and does not guarantee future citations.
- Governance
- The rules governing brand data and actions: who approves, who changes information, which version is current, what an agent may do and when a person takes over.
- Governed source of truth
- One governed source of approved facts, product data, terms and evidence, maintained with ownership, versions and change rules. The website, structured data and AI interfaces draw from the same current foundation.
- JSON-LD
- JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data — Google's preferred format for embedding structured data in web pages. The standard format for schema.org markup.
- Knowledge Graph
- A structured representation of entities and their relationships. AI agents traverse knowledge graphs to disambiguate brand mentions and link them to canonical identities.
- LLM (Large Language Model)
- A neural network trained on vast text corpora to generate, summarise, and reason about language. Examples: Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google).
- LLM Citation Rate
- The share of answers in which the AI names a specific source or link, across a predefined set of prompts, models, language, market and period. Measured separately from mentions and share of voice.
- LLM Visibility
- The observed presence and representation of a brand in a defined sample of AI answers. Mentions, cited sources and accuracy are recorded against specified questions, systems, languages, markets and dates.Related service: B2A Brand Signal
- llms.txt
- An optional text index pointing AI tools to selected content. It is not an official requirement for AI visibility, does not replace the website and does not control access in place of robots.txt.
- llms-full.txt
- An extended companion to llms.txt — long-form, citation-friendly content covering services, FAQ, methodology, and brand facts in markdown.
M — R
- Machine-Readable Brand
- A brand whose facts, services, product data and rules are clearly described in accessible structured formats. The machine layer must agree with the human-facing presentation. Its presence does not automatically mean a working commerce integration.
- MCP interfaces
- Model Context Protocol interfaces connect AI applications with data, tools and workflows. MCP is a connection standard, not a payment protocol; the integration defines specific permissions and actions. MCP documentation.
- Measurement
- Measurement against a documented baseline and defined scope. Technical checks, actual AI mentions and citations, agent performance and confirmed commerce events are recorded separately. A good readability score is not a recorded sale.
- Microdata
- HTML-attribute-based structured data syntax (older alternative to JSON-LD). Still readable by crawlers but less commonly used for new sites.
- Organization Schema
- A Schema.org type describing an organisation and its identifiers, name, address and relationships. The data must be accurate, current and consistent with the business’s official presentation.
- Product data
- Structured information about the offer: identifiers, variants, attributes, prices, availability and terms. It is maintained in the governed source of truth and supplied to the agreed catalogues and interfaces.
- Prompt-Driven Content Audit
- An audit that tests how well a brand surfaces when real prompts (e.g. "best AI branding agency in Bulgaria") are run against major LLMs.
- Reactive Brand System
- Brand Design Ltd.’s proprietary framework for designing brand identities that remain semantically and visually coherent when summarised by AI tools. Combines structured data, generative identity assets, and editorial guidelines tuned for AI summarisation.
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- An architecture in which an AI system retrieves relevant documents at query time and uses them to inform its answer. Source selection and citation depend on the system; an additional file or schema does not guarantee that a source will be used.
S — Z
- Schema.org
- A vocabulary of structured data types (Organization, Service, FAQPage, etc.) jointly developed by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex. The de facto standard for machine-readable web content.
- Semantic HTML
- HTML markup that conveys meaning, not just appearance — proper headings, articles, sections, lists. Helps AI agents extract content structure correctly.
- SEO
- Improving technical access, structure, content and links so that a website can be discovered and understood in search engines. SEO is a foundation of B2A Brand Signal; GEO extends the work to generative AI answers.
- Structured Data
- A machine-readable description of facts and relationships in a defined format, such as JSON-LD using Schema.org. Brand data can describe the organisation, services and products. Structure clarifies data but does not establish its truth on its own.
- UCP (Universal Commerce Protocol)
- An open standard for interoperability between commerce systems. It describes business capabilities that compatible platforms and agents can discover and use, such as catalogue access, checkout and order management. UCP core concepts.
- WebSite Schema
- A schema.org type that describes a website entity, including its SearchAction (how AI agents can search the site programmatically).
The theory
The concepts and the mechanics behind B2A, arranged by topic and by service. The answers stand alone so they survive retrieval out of context.
What is B2A marketing?
Brand Design builds B2A systems through six connected services: Brand, Brand Signal, Product, Customer Digital Twins, Expert AI Agent and Protection. We bring together identity, websites, machine-readable data, research, pre-launch testing and AI commerce according to your business needs. B2A connects access, readability, trust and commerce, with the brand and human choice as the foundation.
What does B2A mean — and what does it not mean?
Here B2A means Business to Agent: the market environment in which a software agent helps with discovery, comparison and actions on a person’s behalf. Brand to Agent describes the same environment from the brand’s perspective. B2A is our complete system, not another name for SEO, GEO or an audit alone. We do not use the older Business-to-Administration meaning.
Why are AI agents replacing traditional search?
AI systems can help people discover, compare and choose offers. In the agentic web, some systems can also perform authorised actions through implemented interfaces. This does not mean that they universally replace search engines or human choice. We examine the specific market and observe actual answers and actions.
How does an LLM decide what to recommend?
Different AI systems use models, indexes, retrieval and source-selection rules. There is no single public recommendation formula. We organise the brand, content and evidence, then measure observed representation under recorded conditions. Structured data or an individual technical change does not establish the cause of an outcome on its own.
What is structured data and why does it matter for B2A?
Structured data describes the organisation, services, products and relationships in a machine-readable format. It should use the same approved facts as the visible website and be updated alongside it. It supports readability but does not replace content, evidence, commerce rules or an actual integration.
What does Brand Design Ltd. deliver in a B2A engagement?
Brand Design builds B2A systems through six connected services: Brand, Brand Signal, Product, Customer Digital Twins, Expert AI Agent and Protection. We bring together identity, websites, machine-readable data, research, pre-launch testing and AI commerce according to your business needs. We start with the business’s current position and the agreed brief. Audits provide diagnostics within Brand Signal. Scope, implemented integrations and measurement are defined for the project, without one mandatory package for every commission.
What is AI SEO and how is it different from traditional SEO?
SEO and GEO are our primary terms. AI SEO is a market label for SEO work in the context of AI search, not a separate service or a replacement for SEO. Within B2A Brand Signal, we connect the technical foundation with content, structured data and verifiable public signals.
What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO is work on brand discovery and accurate representation in generative AI answers through clear content, consistent facts and verifiable evidence. It complements SEO. Measurement shows what we observe after changes, but GEO is not limited to measurement and does not guarantee citation.
What is AIO (AI Overview Optimization)?
AIO has no single established meaning. It is used as a market label for AI Optimization and as shorthand for Google AI Overviews. We therefore specify the context rather than present it as a separate discipline in our services. SEO and GEO remain our primary terms.
How do I appear in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Copilot results?
Start with an accessible website, clear identity, useful content and consistent facts supported by verifiable sources. Structured data supports readability, while a governed source of truth keeps information current. Actual presence is checked separately in a recorded sample of AI answers; no technical file guarantees inclusion on its own.
Why isn't my website cited by AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity?
There is rarely a single cause when a brand is absent from an AI answer. Possible factors include technical inaccessibility, weak or unclear content, insufficient topical authority, inconsistent organisation data, a lack of credible third-party sources, or different source selection by the particular AI system. A technical audit measures site readiness; separate live-answer monitoring shows whether the brand is mentioned and whether its domain is cited.
SEO vs GEO: which one does my business actually need?
SEO provides the foundation for discovery and understanding in search engines. GEO complements that work for brand representation in generative AI answers. We connect them within B2A Brand Signal through content, structured data and evidence. Measurement guides corrections but is not the whole of GEO.
How do I optimise my site for Google AI Overview?
Google specifies the same core SEO practices for AI Overviews and AI Mode, without special AI optimisation or schema. These are search features, not separate services we offer. Google’s official guidance.
How do I optimise my site for Bing Copilot and Perplexity?
Keep pages fast, crawlable and understandable without requiring JavaScript. Publish verifiable facts, clear authors and sources, consistent organisation data and appropriate Schema.org markup. llms.txt may serve as a supplementary navigation document, but it is an optional proposal with no demonstrated status as a ranking factor or citation requirement.
What is LLM visibility and how is it measured?
LLM visibility is the observed presence of a brand in a defined sample of AI answers. We record the questions, systems, languages, markets and dates, then report mentions, cited sources and accuracy separately. This sample does not reveal training-data contents and is not a sales report.
Is voice search optimisation the same as AI search optimisation?
No. Voice search is a way to enter a query; a generative AI answer is a way to compose and present information. Accessible, clear and reliable content is a shared foundation. GEO addresses representation in generative answers rather than being defined only by query length or voice input.
How long does AI SEO / GEO optimisation take to show results?
There is no universal timeline for appearing in independent AI answers. Technical changes can be verified after implementation, while crawling, source updates and selection depend on external systems. We agree a baseline, comparison period and observation frequency, then report what was actually observed.
Do you offer AI SEO services for Bulgarian businesses (Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv)?
Yes. Brand Design Ltd. works with businesses in Bulgaria and the EU in English and Bulgarian. SEO and GEO belong within B2A Brand Signal; AI SEO and AIO are explanatory market labels, not additional services. Scope follows the agreed brief; an audit is not a prerequisite for every commission.
What is a B2A Expert AI Agent?
An Expert AI Agent for one brand, built on approved products, services, prices, terms and selling strategy. Rules define what it may answer or do and when it hands over to a person. Quality is tested and maintained; training alone is not a guarantee of error-free output.
How is this different from a chatbot?
The difference is in the implementation, not the chatbot label. The Expert AI Agent uses approved business knowledge, defined permissions, agreed tools and human-handover rules. We test those capabilities against real scenarios rather than infer them from the product’s name.
What does B2A mean here?
B2A means Business to Agent. The person remains the customer; their agent can participate in discovery, comparison and purchase within granted permissions. The Expert AI Agent represents the brand’s side through verifiable facts and clear commerce rules.
Can it sell to another AI agent?
Yes, that capability is within the service’s scope. The buying agent must be authorised by its user, and the business needs implemented and tested connections for the required actions. An agent and structured data do not activate ordering or payment on their own.
Why is there a monthly fee?
To keep the agent’s knowledge and behaviour current as prices, offers, rules and actual customer questions change. Monthly work covers the agreed updates, support, checks and further training.
When does it make sense to build one?
Once the brand, signal, offer and necessary pre-launch tests are prepared. The Expert AI Agent is the fifth of six B2A services. The prepared funnel goes live when the business and the complete system are ready, including agreed integrations for actual actions.
What is AI brand protection?
B2A Protection is the sixth service and a layer that builds from the creation of the brand. It connects interpretation rules, verifiable facts and observation of inaccurate or misleading representation. Maintenance and responses are agreed; we do not promise control over external AI systems.
How do LLMs spread brand misinformation?
Inaccuracies can arise during answer generation or come from outdated, conflicting or incorrectly linked sources. We therefore verify the specific claim and available evidence. Correcting the business’s own data does not guarantee an immediate change in every external model.
What is a brand hallucination?
A brand hallucination is a factual error about your company or product generated by an AI model. Common types: incorrect founding date or history, fabricated legal or financial events, wrong product specifications or pricing, misattributed quotes or statements from executives. The danger is that hallucinations are presented with the same confidence as accurate facts — users rarely distinguish.
How does deepfake defence work?
The specific material, its origin and its connection to the brand are checked first. Depending on the case, evidence is documented and monitoring, identification of original material and reporting actions are agreed. This does not imply guaranteed removal or continuous automated coverage of every platform.
What does Brand Design Ltd. deliver in a protection engagement?
The agreed scope can include brand-representation rules, a claims-and-evidence register, baseline measurement, review of specific risks and a response plan. Observation frequency, channels and response times are defined for the project. Protection is maintained as part of the complete B2A system.
